Get in the spirit of musical play with trombonist George Voland. Open yourself to the true spirit of musical interplay and learn to converse musically with other like-minded improvisers. Yes! Everyone can improvise.
The workshop is open to all instrumentalists and vocalists who want to learn about getting in touch with their inner musical voice and expressing themselves in a group setting. All age and experience levels are welcome. A basic level of skill in reading music would be very helpful!
If you play an amplified instrument, you—except for vocalists—need to bring your own amps, instrument-amp cord, and an extension cord. Vocalists will use the house system. Keyboard players, you will use the house piano; drummers need to bring their kits. All who have music stands should bring them in case we need extras (though we’ll all be using our ears more than written music most of the time).
